Everest Challenge
On the last day of February, various students and staff took part in the Oakvale Everest Challenge. This annual event raises money for residential trips for children at Oakvale and teams of competitors are sponsored to ascend the climbing wall as often as they can in their hour slot.
House Teams from St Sampson’s took part, as well as a Year 11 Team and a Staff Team! By the time everyone was harnessed up, wearing protective helmets, we all looked equally silly. Some students (and staff) took part who had a real fear of heights and for them this was a real achievement.
We raised over £150 and it was one of the first joint ventures in the run up to our move to Baubigny Schools, where Oakvale will join us at their new school, Le Murier.
