SKI TRIP
The 2008 Ski Trip to Courmayer was a complete success with St Sampson’s School being represented by 17 students for the week. We travelled from Guernsey Harbour to St Malo and then bussed down through France to the resort which is just past the border with Italy.
On the first day the snow was not as good as usual for the time of year, but during the next 3 days there were some heavy snowfalls (with up to ½ a metre of snow falling each night), which allowed for some fantastic skiing for the rest of the week. There were several students from the schools who had never skied before, but thanks to some great instructors by the end of the week they were managing some very steep slopes. In fact, every skier improved! However, most important of all was the ‘Simply the Best’ and ‘Simply the Worst’ beautiful luminous jackets which students were nominated to wear for the day whilst skiing!!
We managed to find time for a lot of socialising as well, enjoying ice skating, karaoke, a pizza night, a quiz night and a massive disco with other school groups.
Thank you to all the students who represented the school in such a positive way – a good time was had by all!
